Chinese phone makers worry over possible Android patent suit

    SHANGHAI: The ruling against Samsung Electronics last week in its patent war against Apple has raised concerns for smartphone makers using the Android system. And this includes fast-growing local brands in China.

    Industry observers said the impact on Chinese phone makers is limited for now. However, the bigger challenge will come if Apple decides to sue Google on patents used within Android.

    Apart from its huge storage capacity and fancy settings, local phone Xiaomi offers other features that have won consumers' hearts.
