Apple's wafer order shift may benefit Taiwan firms: Gartner


    Taipei, Oct. 4 (CNA) Taiwanese wafer companies will likely win more orders from Apple Inc. as the U.S. electronics giant is expected to shift from its dependence on Samsung Electronics Co., an analyst at research firm Gartner Inc. said Thursday.

    Samuel Wang, a research director at U.S.-based Gartner, said Samsung's Large Scale Integration (LSI) fabrication is enjoying good business from Apple's A5 and A6 application processors, and Samsung's own chip manufacturing this year.
