China’s first manned submersible produces over 70 patent applications

China’s first self-generated-IPR manned submersible developed by the State Oceanic Administration (SOA), dubbed "Jiaolong", has successfully reached 3,759 meters beneath the waves during a manned mission and set a record by operating underwater for nine hours and three minutes.

The project of "Jiaolong" has filed 70 patent applications including velocity automatic cruise and hover in bottom of water, high speed underwater acoustic communication and other advanced technologies. Among the 70 applications, 45 of which are granted and 3 software copyrights are registered as well.
