IPR Police uncovers illegal sale of counterfeit Japanese athletic apparel

2011-06-22

In late 2010, IPR Police investigators originally discovered a well-known online shopping website on which sales of over 5,000 counterfeit Phiten titanium necklaces, bracelets and adhesive strips were being conducted. After detailed analysis of the discovered items, the case remained under investigation until March 2011, when a supply of approximately 2,000 similar items was found for sale at a location in Ilan County. The IPR Police estimated that the accused parties had generated profits of over NT$1,000,000 from the counterfeit items. All evidence of the case was subsequently directed to district prosecutors on May 5, 2011 for further investigation.
