Taipei, Feb. 13 (CNA) Taiwanese smartphone vendor HTC Corp. said Wednesday that it will defend its rights and interests after being named in a patent infringement complaint in the United States.
"We will definitely respect innovations and intellectual property patents, and we will spare no effort to protect our interests," HTC said in a statement, adding that it had yet to receive notification of the complaint from the court.
The complaint was filed by Tela Innovations Inc., an integrated circuit (IC) design company, with the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) on Feb. 8.
HTC, Nokia Oyj, LG Electronics Inc., Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. and Pantech Co. were all named in the complaint.
